What is Direct Payment and What are Some Examples?
Direct Payment
Direct payment refers to the act of trading parties exchanging payment directly without going through Gigs.
In order to ensure safe transactions and minimize disputes, Gigs strictly prohibits direct payments and cannot provide assistance in case of any resulting damages.
If someone requests a direct payment, firmly refuse and report it to Support (opens in a new tab).
Examples of Direct Payment Solicitation
The following examples simulate scenarios of soliciting direct payments. Any action that seeks to bypass Gigs' secure payment service constitutes "direct payment solicitation."
Direct Deposit to Expert's Account
- 💬 "Hello. The price for the lecture is 100,000 KRW. If you transfer the payment to my account, I can offer you a discount."
- 💬 "Please make a direct payment on the website where my portfolio is showcased."
- 💬 "If you make a payment via bank transfer for additional lessons, I can offer you a discount."
- 💬 "Is it possible to make a direct payment transfer due to purchase and sales fees?"
- 💬 "My personal number is 010-0000-0000. Please contact me here, and I will guide you."
Cases of Damage Due to Direct Payment
- 💬 "Received direct transfer, but expert stopped responding."
- 💬 "Promised discounted lesson but failed to deliver the lesson properly."
- 💬 "Continuously demanding additional payments."
Gigs Secure Payment Guidelines
- Gigs operates an escrow payment system where the deposited amount is held in advance.
- By purchasing lessons through Gigs, you are protected for the payment amount until the purchase is confirmed. Engaging in or soliciting direct payments will result in restrictions on using the Gigs website.
